Colour schemes are, of course, a matter of personal taste. However, here are some pointers which might tempt you to rethink your current colours.

• White = Elegant Simplicity. There is a reason why so many high end hotels have white bathrooms, cabinets, towels and bathrobes. Pure white may be simple but it is undoubtedly elegant.

• Grey = Classic Style. In recent years, grey has become the go-to colour for bathrooms. it is a soothing colour and easy to match with. It has a warmth that white doesn't have and looks outstanding with brushed silver fixtures.

• Monochrome = Spa Inspired. The most expensive bathrooms are often spa inspired. You can get the same look, however, without breaking the bank. A simple monochrome colour scheme, using shades such as light r aqua blue, will give the desired effect.

• Dark = Class. Have you considered dark rather than light colours for your bathroom? Nothing says class and elegance more than dark shades on bathroom walls. Consider rich colours such as navy blue, charcoal grey or a dark brown.
